John NewlandsNewlands discovered the idea of patterns of the elements in chemistry. Newlands was the first chemist to actually put the elements in patterns, he listed the order in increasing atomic weight.Though the paper was rejected by the Journal of the Chemical Society, since it was organized in a way that elements were next to completely different elements, it did however put the legacy for future chemists that elements can be put in categories.
